Dwight Vermette served in the United States Navy from 1975 to 1984. During his tenure in the Navy, a majority of Dwight’s time was devoted to working in the area of military law. It was while in the Navy that Dwight developed the niche to become an attorney, and made the difficult decision not to pursue a career in the Navy.

After his discharge from the Navy, Dwight attended and graduated from law school at the University of Missouri, Columbia. As an attorney, Dwight has practiced extensively in the areas of litigation, probate and estate planning, small business law, and subdivision law. Dwight’s litigation experience includes representing physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice cases, and, relying on such experience, co-authored “Fighting the Squeeze”, appearing in the Medical Liability and Health Care Law Section of the September 2012 edition For the Defense. He helped coordinate subdivision seminars, and is a member of Community Managers Associates.

A resident of Jefferson County, Missouri, Dwight currently represents Missouri’s 22nd Senatorial District as a member of the Missouri Republican Committee; formerly represented Imperial Township on the Jefferson County Republican Central Committee; and was Jefferson County’s 2011 Republican of the Year. In addition, Dwight is a committee member of the St. Louis Chapter of Autism Speaks.
