Eckenrode-Bauman, Attorneys at Law, is proud to announce that Nicolas Suarez has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 Michael J. Leahy Memorial Scholarship to attend the Litigation Management Institute (LMI), presented by the Claims and Litigation Management (CLM) Alliance. Nicolas is the first LMI student to receive this scholarship, which honors the memory and legacy of the late Michael J. Leahy.
The Litigation Management Institute (LMI) is a rigorous executive education program designed to bridge the gap between legal theory and litigation practice. Through intensive, interactive sessions led by experienced instructors and industry leaders, LMI equips participants with practical tools for managing litigation effectively and strategically.
Mike Leahy was a respected attorney, mentor, and one of the founding instructors of LMI. Alongside Lawrence Beemer, he taught the Risk Transfer course for many years, helping shape the professional development of countless attorneys and claims professionals.
In recognition of his contributions, Mike’s friends and colleagues established this scholarship to continue his passion for advancing education and professional growth within the legal community. We believe Mike would be proud to know that, through this scholarship, a young attorney from a small firm has been given the opportunity to further develop his skills and expertise.
The entire Eckenrode-Bauman team is honored to see Nicolas recognized in this meaningful way. His selection reflects not only his hard work and dedication but also the firm’s ongoing commitment to professional excellence and lifelong learning.
As the LMI community gathers next week, participants will take a moment to remember Mike Leahy and celebrate the lasting impact of his mentorship and leadership, an impact that continues to shape the next generation of attorneys.
Congratulations, Nicolas, on this outstanding achievement!
